While there is really naught new contained here, I call up this book is valuable for the quality of its information and enquiry, its objectivity, and the concentration of a not bad deal of useful and interesting information in i volume.I especially enjoyed the kickoff chapter which summarized the style of warfare in the 18th century. In showcasing this evolution, Rothenburg not but highlights how the French came to be so dominant, but also how their failure to further evolve from their pinnacle in 1805-7, allowed their enemies to larn, and adapt from them. And then, somewhen conquer them.
